Zig Zags Outside School Hours Care (Zig Zags OSHC) was founded in 2011 and purchased by the Ablett family in 2015. The vision for Zig Zags OSHC is “to be a fun place for children to grow”.
Zig Zags OSHC supports a fun positive contribution to learning life skills and building self confidence. The setting provides an environment to socialise, play and have fun with their friends.
7.00-8.45am & 3.00-6.00pm Monday – Friday during School term. (Greenwood commences from 6.30am)
We are open for Pupil Free Days from 7am-6pm (from 6.30am Greenwood). Children attending other schools can still attend.
Zig Zags OSHC provides password protected journals with remote login to view what your child has been doing throughout the week.
Our child led curriculum is based on children’s interests, intentional teaching and providing meaningful play and leisure opportunities to support each child’s wellbeing and development.
All interactions, planned and unplanned experiences, activities, routines which occur in our environment, foster children’s wellbeing, development and learning.
The foundation of our curriculum is the ‘My Time, Our Place’ framework for school age care in Australia. This guides Educators in their curriculum decision making and assists them in their planning, implementing and evaluating and providing quality care.
Kindergarten, Preprimary and Junior students are escorted to and from Zig Zags OSHC and the classroom. Our staff are also available to escort your child to on-ground activities such as music lessons, tutoring or sport as required.
All staff are trained in first aid, asthma & anaphylactic care and no staff member will be present without a current Working With Children check.
Children attending before & after school care are offered a healthy breakfast and afternoon tea.
Children only require the items already in their school bag – a water bottle, hat and change of clothes if preferred.
Zig Zags OHSC comply with the National Quality Framework which guides us to deliver a quality program where children can learn, socialise and continue their development in a safe but fun environment.
